Every Step Counts

Every Step Counts

Museum of Futures - Our Shared Futures

Every Step Counts is a powerful exhibition showcasing the works of NSW public school students, highlighting their insights into domestic violence, respectful relationships and gender equality.

Students across NSW public schools have been invited to participate, with the work supported by teacher professional learning. The program was created to provide a creative outlet for students to engage in a social justice movement that impacts their lives dramatically, as one in four children are directly impacted by domestic violence. The resulting exhibition also underscores the importance of primary prevention and generational change.

Every Step Counts features more than 100 student paintings and poems, using various media and compositional techniques to explore this challenging theme.

The Every Step Counts school program covers topics such as positive self-image, reducing violenve-supportive attitudes and behaviours, making 'good choices', gender bias in the media and social media, and consent.
