Disallowable instruments

The Interpretation Act 1987 provides that either House of Parliament can resolve to disallow a statutory instrument. Disallowing an instrument means that it is treated as if it has been repealed and any amendments made by it are undone. An instrument may be disallowed if notice of the disallowance resolution is given within 15 sitting days after notice of the rule is tabled in the House. Browse disallowable instruments tabled in both Houses by year. Use the filter to view disallowable instruments tabled in previous years, and to view instruments by status.
