Corrections: The list of candidates published by the State Electoral Office gave no party affiliation for F.W.Stuart. However, he has been listed as a Country Party candidate in line with Hughes and Graham (1975), and also in line with Cunneen's study of the 1944 election, which mentions three Country Party nominations for Byron. Hughes and Graham also list Regan as an Independent, but the State Electoral Office's listing of him as an Independent Labor candidate has been adopted, reflecting the flow of his preferences to Labor.
