Notes: According to Clunes' study of the 1941 election, sitting Country Party MP A.W.Yeo complained the new boundaries had turned Castlereagh into a Labor seat and so chose to contest the electorate of Liverpool Plains.
Corrections: Hughes and Graham (1975) list Smithers as an Independent. Clunes' study of the 1941 election states that an Indepdnent Labor candidate contested Castlereagh, and with 90% of Smithers' preferences flowing to Labor, he has been listed here as an Independent Labor candidate.
