Notes: In 'Civilising Capitalism', Bede Nairn lists Thomas Brown as one of the re-elected non-solidarity Labor candidates (p120 and footnote). He is missing from the SMH list of selected Labor candidates (16 July) and has been listed here as an Independent Labor candidate in line with the Australian Workman. The Worker listed him as a Labor candidate on 30 June and a modified pledge Labor candidate in the 7 July Brisbane Worker. There was no selected Free Trade candidate in either the SMH or Australian Star, but Brown was listed as a chosen candidate of the more radical Free Trade and Land Reform Association.
