Adelong Mining Journal, 22 July, p. 4, col. 2 does report the DOP, but the State Library copy is so badly damaged it is only possible to read Wilson's vote (374). But his vote does suggest that the provisional result printed by SMH was not wildly inaccurate. Statistical Register (1850-59) provides no return of total votes.
