A celebration of creativity and resilience

Experience the resilience and creativity of regional artists in the captivating new exhibition, While the World Waits, by Arts OutWest. On display from 6 to 28 August in NSW Parliament’s historic Fountain Court, visitors will experience a diverse collection of artworks reflecting the experiences and emotions of artists during the COVID-19 pandemic.

While the World Waits showcases works from both emerging and established artists, across various mediums, with each piece offering a poignant reflection on themes of isolation, hope, adaptation, and the collective human spirit that has endured in the face of adversity.

Steve Cavanagh from Arts OutWest said, "This unique opportunity for visual artists from the Central West to create artworks for this exhibition has been a labour of love for Arts OutWest. We could see the impact of the global pandemic on the arts. We’re thrilled these artists have the opportunity for their work to be shown in Sydney at NSW Parliament House.”

The exhibition is sponsored at NSW Parliament House by President of the Legislative Council, Ben Franklin MLC. "It is wonderful to welcome regional artists to Sydney through this exhibition by Arts OutWest. It is a testament to their ability to find inspiration and express their experiences through art, bringing this unique perspective to the heart of democracy in NSW."
