Personal information
Son of Samuel, auctioneer and property owner, and Mary Murphy. Married Charlotte Margaret Fuller on 24 March 1853 at Sydney and had issue, 1 daughter and 3 sons. Roman Catholic.
Qualifications, occupations and interests
Businessman and property owner. Educated at a school in England. Studied at Liege and Cambridge. Took over family enterprises. In later years lived of his property. Became an official assignee in late 1870s. Captain of Paddington Volunteer Rifles.
