Notes: The retiring Country Party MP for Gloucester was R.L.Fitzgerald. Leon Punch was the Country Party MP for Upper Hunter, but that seat was contested by Frank O'Keefe after large parts of his abolished seat of Liverpool Plains were transferred to Upper Hunter. Punch contested preselection for Gloucester against A.M.Borthwick, who had contested Gloucester in 1959 as an Independent. Borthwick won the ballot, but Punch appealed to the State Executive claiming irregularities in the vote, and the party eventually resolved the matter by endorsing both Borthwick and Punch for the election.
