Notes: George Black was denied Nationalist pre-selection despite the backing of William Holman. In the Daily Telegraph list of nominations (5 March), it is mentioned that the Nationalists chose not to nominate a candidate, leaving Black to contest against WE Wearne, an officer of the Farmers and Settlers Association. The SMH (24 March) listed Black as an Independent Labor MP for whom Nationalist Supporters should vote. Hughes and Graham (1975) listed Black as an Independent Nationalist.
