Notes: Rae appears in the selected lists of both the Labor and Free Trade Parties, SMH 22 July 1898, p.7 col.2. However, he was an endorsed Labor candidate in the Worker. With no Free Trade candidate in this district, Rae was also endorsed by george Reid, SMH 27 July 1898, p.2 col.7.
