Notes: Miller advertised in the Murrumburrah Standard 9 February, describing himself as a 'Farmers and Working Men's Candidate' and stated that he would not withdraw from the contest. Presumably he was under pressure to withdraw to avoid splitting the Protectionist vote.
Source: Burrangong Chronicle, 13 February 1889, p.2 col.4. Same results published in SMH 12 February 1889, p.8 col.1 including booth results, with the exception that Mackinnon had 919 votes. Murrumburrah Standard had the same result as the Chronicle, barring Gough being on 930, 16 February, p.2 including booth results.
