Source: Report of nominations SMH 17 June 1859, p.8 col.1-3. Results from SMH 20 June, p.5 col. 1, reporting Returning Officer declaring results on election day after the 'candidates had consented to that being considered the official declaration of the poll'.
Corrections: The NSW Statistical Register (1850-59) footnotes the Returning Officer suggesting the correct enrolment is really around 990 after the removal of duplicate names. However, given this problem afflicted all rolls in this period, it does not seem appropriate to correct just one electorate for this.
