Notes: J.T.Reid was nearly 80 years old at the time of the 1953 election and there was local feeling that he should retire. Rather than force his retirement, the Party allowed multiple nomination and the electorate was won by 26 year-old Ian Robinson. (See Don Aitkin, 'The Country Party in New South Wales, pp224-225)
