Notes: The Liberal Party went to some effort to state they were supporting Punch as the Country Party candidate, and the President of a local Liberal branch criticised other candidates who painted themselves as Liberals. See Gloucester Advocate 10 February 1968, p.4. Buckingham described himself as an 'Independent Liberal' and a 'True Liberal', while Scott described himself as a Liberal Country Party candidate.
