Notes: Both Jaques and Preston-Stanley were sitting Nationalist MP for Eastern Suburbs. Preston-Stanley won the Nationalist pre-selection ballot between the two, but Jaques contested and won as an Independent Nationalist at the 1927 election. He was admitted to the Nationalist caucus after the election.
