​Mr Li, Chair, informed the House that that the Public Accounts Committee received a referral from the Minister for Finance to conduct an inquiry into a framework for performance reporting and driving wellbeing outcomes in NSW, the full details of which are available on the Committee’s home page.

SUSPENSION OF STANDING AND SESSIONAL ORDERS​Commenced 1.16 pm

Mr Henskens moved: That standing and sessional orders be suspended to permit

1. Consideration today, after conclusion of the public interest debate, of the introduction and second reading stages of the Bail Amendment (Serious Personal Violence and Electronic Monitoring) Bill 2024, of which notice was given by me this day; and

2. Resumption of the second reading debate on the bill prior to consideration of Government Business on Tuesday, 14 May 2024, and consideration of all remaining stages, as follows:

a) Debate on the bill to be interrupted at 5.00pm for the public interest debate;

b) Debate on the bill to resume after the public interest debate, unless concluded prior;

c) if not concluded by 7.00pm, debate will be interrupted and the member with carriage of the bill shall give their reply on the second reading debate (time unlimited);  and

d) after the second reading debate is concluded, the bill to proceed through all remaining stages at the same sitting.​​

SUSPENSION OF STANDING AND SESSIONAL ORDERS​Commenced 1.16 pm

Mr Hoenig​ moved: 

(1) That standing and sessional orders be suspended to permit

(a) The Premier, at 2.30pm, to move a motion of condolence in relation to the Bondi Junction attack.

(b) The Premier, followed by the Leader of the Opposition to speak for an unspecified period of time.

(c) If debate on the condolence motion is not concluded by 5.00pm, the commencement of the Public interest Debate will be postponed until debate on the condolence motion has concluded.

(2) That Standing and Sessional Orders be suspended on Wednesday 8 May 2024 to permit the routine of business to be interrupted at approximately 10.15 am to permit the Member for Northern Tablelands to give his valedictory speech.

(1) ​​Expresses its deep sorrow at the loss of six innocent lives on the 13th of April 2024 in Bondi Junction.
(2) Extends its sincere condolences to the farnilies of those who lost their lives and those who were injured.
(3) Recognises the bravery and professionalism of our frontline workers in responding to this tragedy.
