811 - Regional Transport and Roads - TRANSPORT FOR NSW LISMORE PILOT – REBUILT OR REPAIRED

Farraway, Sam to the Minister for Jobs and Tourism, Special Minister of State, Minister for Roads, Minister for the Arts, and Minister for Music and the Night-time Economy representing the Minister for Regional Transport and Roads
TRANSPORT FOR NSW LISMORE PILOT – REBUILT OR REPAIRED

(1) Can the Minister advise, how many roads in the Lismore City Council area have been rebuilt and/or repaired under the pilot structure?

Answer -

I am advised

Transport for NSW provided Lismore City Council with a dedicated project manager to support recovery efforts, including to facilitate direct negotiations with NSW Reconstruction Authority to support the assessment and approval process. The specialist project manager did not project manage individual road restoration projects.

The extent of damage to the Lismore road and bridge infrastructure is substantial and a major project approach has been required to facilitate the necessary works. Accordingly, the following assistance has been provided:

established a multi-disciplinary project team to lead the major recovery effort

completed necessary temporary works to re-establish access for dislocated communities

established concept designs and investigations to scope the significant reconstruction works

completed submissions to satisfy the Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements and establish the funding necessary to facilitate the works.
