(1) Can the Minister list the councils that Transport for NSW have taken back Road Maintenance Council Contracts work from?
Answer -

I am advised

New Road Maintenance Council Contracts commenced in July 2023. There have been some minor changes to the number of councils participating in Road Maintenance Council Contracts. Significant natural disaster restoration works on councils’ Regional and Local Road networks have required councils to prioritise these works ahead of Road Maintenance Council Contracts works. Councils not having sufficient staff resources has also prompted stopping and/or pausing Road Maintenance Council Contracts engagements.

• Yass Valley Council ceased Road Maintenance Council Contracts works from 31 January 2023 for a 2-3 year period.

• Balranald Council ceased Road Maintenance Council Contracts works from 30 June 2023.

• Clarence Valley Council ceased Road Maintenance Council Contracts works 1 July 2023 for a 2-3 year period.

• Carrathool Council ceased Road Maintenance Council Contracts works from 1 July 2023.

• Narrandera Council will cease Road Maintenance Council Contracts works from 1 September 2023.
