I am advised

(1) 39 properties have been impacted by the Singleton Bypass Project. The property acquisitions were conducted by the former Liberal-National government. I am advised that at that time, the local member refused to advocate on behalf of his constituents. All acquisitions have been completed except for six matters that remain before the Land and Environment Court (Court). Transport for NSW is unable to comment about matters before the Court. This court action proceeds the current NSW Government.

(2) Transport for NSW is required to pay compensation in accordance with Section 55(a) of the Land Acquisition (Just Terms Compensation) Act 1991 - “landowners are entitled to the market value of the land on the date of its acquisition”. Market Value is determined by an independent valuation and is subject to negotiations between the parties involved to try to seek a mutual agreement. The property acquisitions were conducted by the former Liberal-National government. I am advised that at that time, the local member refused to advocate on behalf of his constituents.
