Enact One Nation’s NSW Religious Anti-Discrimination Legislation as recommended by the Parliamentary Joint Select Committee.

Petitioner: Mr Michael Andjelkovic | Member: Latham, Mark | No. of Signatories: 23,093 | Date closed: 11/05/2023 | Status: Presented 23/05/2023
To the President and Members of the Legislative Council, the petitioners of New South Wales state that the Joint Select Committee on the Anti-Discrimination Amendment (Religious Freedoms and Equality) Bill 2020 in March 2021 handed down its report into proposed amendments the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977 (NSW). The amendments seek to provide protections to the people of New South Wales against discrimination on the basis of religion. The petitioners request that the House move forward and adopt the proposed bill in line with the Joint Select Committee’s nine key findings and four key recommendations. These recommendations are interdependent and should be implemented in their totality without delay, subject only to the outcome of further consultations with faith community representatives.
