    2. the Independent Local Government Review Panel;
    3. individual Mayors and Councillors?
  2. Has the Minister indicated his support for forced council amalgamations to any of those organisations or individuals?
  3. Is the Division of Local Government or the Independent Review Panel currently examining proposed boundaries changes for metropolitan councils?
Answer -

At the request of the then Local Government and Shires Associations of NSW, the Independent Local Government Review Panel was established to investigate and identify options for governance models, structural arrangements and boundary changes for local government in NSW.

A copy of the Panel's terms of reference is available on the Panel's website at http://www.localgovernmentreview.nsw.gov.au/

My commitment as Minister for Local Government is to give full and careful consideration to the final recommendations of the Independent Review of Local Government.
