Rural Fire Service to drop the mandatory vaccination policy due to the vaccines not stopping transmission

Petitioner: Mrs Sarah Stiff | Member: Davies, Tanya | No. of Signatories: 245 | Date closed: 30/08/2022
To the Speaker and Members of the Legislative Assembly, I would like to see mandatory vaccinations be removed from the Rural Fire Service Policy due to the fact that the vaccines do not stop transmission and therefore do not protect others from a COVID19 exposure. The RFS consensus for mandatory vaccinations was initiated due to an 80% general consensus that the vaccines stop/reduce transmission and the best way to protect the vulnerable is to have everyone vaccinated. The majority of the public has been educated to believe that vaccines stop/reduce transmission, and this is no longer the standpoint of the latest 2022 scientific evidence and policy should reflect this change. The viral load of virus in both vaccinated and unvaccinated are the same, the risk of a vaccinated person transmitting the virus to either a vaccinated or unvaccinated person is the same risk. Therefore, the policy needs to be updated to reflect the scientific evidence. The current policy also does not allow for immunity following wild infection and is harmful to members who do not wish to share their vaccination status or unvaccinated members. We request mandatory vaccinations be removed from the Rural Fire Service Policy
