2023 New South Wales election: Analysis of results

In this paper election expert Antony Green provides a detailed analysis of the results of the 2023 New South Wales election. The paper includes summaries of the results in all lower house electoral districts, comparisons with the 2019 election, and statistical analysis of results and swings across districts and regions. A summary of the 2021 redistribution is included along with by-elections since 2019. Overall first preference results for the Legislative Council are provided, along with a summary of the distribution of preferences.

Chief Election Analyst with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, Antony Green has worked for the ABC on every state and federal election coverage since 1989. Antony studied at University of Sydney obtaining a Bachelor of Science in mathematics and computing, and a Bachelor of Economics with Honours in politics. He is an Adjunct Professor in the Department of Government and International Relations at the University of Sydney.
