Question

(1) Can the Minister advise how many permanent teaching positions are currently vacant in each New South Wales public school, broken down by school?

Answer

I am advised by the Deputy Premier, Minister for Education and Early Learning and Minister for Western Sydney that:

The Minns Labor Government inherited a teacher shortage crisis from the former NSW Liberal Nationals Government. As of 18 May 2023, there was a total of 1820.90 FTE vacant teaching positions at NSW public schools. A table providing the breakdown by school is listed in Tab A attached.
