De Facto Relationships Legislation

Introduction

This inquiry was established to inquire into De Facto Relationships legislation.
Terms of reference

That the Standing Committee on Social Issues inquire into, and report on: § the rights and obligations of persons in interdependent personal relationships other than those defined in the De Facto Relationships Act, 1984; and § the extension of those rights and obligations as proposed in the De Facto Relationships Amendment Bill, 1998 introduced into the Legislative Council on 24 June 1998. These Terms of Reference were referred on 15 October 1998 by the Hon Jeff Shaw QC MLC, Attorney General, and again in May 1999 following the reconstitution of the Committee.
