Judge alone trials under s. 132 of the Criminal Procedure Act 1986

Introduction

The terms of reference for the Inquiry was referred to the Committee by the NSW Attorney General and Minister for Justice, the Hon John Hatzistergos MLC, on 27 April 2010. The Committee encourages public participation in its inquiry processes. Submissions closed on 9 July 2010. The Committee held public hearings on 11, 12 and 13 August 2010. The Committee tabled its report on 8 November 2010. The Government's response to the report's recommendations is due on 8 May 2011.
