Notification of intention to issue writ for by-election in the vacant seat of Port Macquarie
Download the media releaseSpeaker of the NSW Legislative Assembly, the Hon. Greg Piper MP, today announced a by-election will be held for the electoral district of Port Macquarie following the receipt of a resignation letter from Leslie Williams.
“Subsequent upon receipt of the resignation of Leslie Williams, I wish to announce that a by election for the vacant seat of Port Macquarie will be held on Saturday 15 March 2025,” Mr Piper said.
“Consequent to advice received from the Electoral Commission and consultation with relevant stakeholders, I informed the Electoral Commissioner Ms Rachel McCallum of my intention to issue the writ on 21 February 2025 for a by-election to be held on Saturday 15 March 2025 in the seat of Port Macquarie.” Mr Piper said.
