587 - WOMEN REPRESENTATION ON BOARDS

That this House:

  1. Notes that women are underrepresented on public and private industry boards in New South Wales.
  2. Considers that placing women on public and private sector boards is a critical step to break down the structural disadvantages unfairly faced by women in the workplace.
  3. Calls on the Government to take more action to:
    1. foster the development of women to senior leadership positions within the private sector.
    2. encourage companies to appoint more women to their boards.
  4. Calls on the Government to lead by example and increase women's representation on public sector boards.
