ALBURY AND BORDER RESCUE SQUAD 50TH ANNIVERSARY

1719 - COMMONWEALTH PENSION CHANGES

That this House:

  1. Notes the changes to the pension by the Commonwealth Government means that many Wallsend residents will no longer qualify for any pension at all.

  2. Notes Wallsend pensioners are concerned that they will also lose access to discounts on state Government services, increasing their cost of living.

  3. Urges the Minister for Finance, Services and Property to guarantee continued access to discounts for Government services to Wallsend's pensioners .
