189. The procedure for the consideration of a bill as an urgent bill is
as follows:
- Sufficient copies being available to Members a Member in charge of the
bill, after making an agreement in principle speech, may declare a bill to be
an urgent bill.
- The question "That the bill be considered an urgent bill" is put
forthwith, no debate or amendment being allowed.
- If agreed to, the debate in principle and other stages may be proceeded
with forthwith or at any time during that or any future sitting of the House.
