S.O.157 Amendments - form of amendments

CHAPTER 13 - AMENDMENTS

157. After a question has been proposed by the Speaker, it may be amended by:

    (1) the omission of words:
      "That the words proposed to be left out stand part of the question".

    (2) the omission of words in order to insert or add other words:
      "That the words proposed to be left out stand part of the question".
      • If resolved in the affirmative the amendment is disposed of;
      • If negatived the question proposed is "That the words to be inserted (or added) be so inserted (or added)".

    (3) the insertion or addition of words:
      "That the words proposed to be inserted (or added) be so inserted (or added)".

The Parliament of New South Wales acknowledges and respects the traditional lands of all Aboriginal people, and pays respects to all Elders past and present. We acknowledge the Gadigal people as the traditional custodians of the land on which the Parliament of New South Wales stands.
