Supported decision-making in NSW

The Committee on Ageing and Disability is inquiring into supported decision-making for adults with disability and older people in NSW.

The inquiry will examine the role and functions of the Ageing and Disability Commission in relation to supported decision-making and consider options for enhancing the process of supported decision-making.

It will consider the lived experience of people seeking to access support to make decisions, including Aboriginal people and people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

It will also consider measures to ensure that substitute decision-making is an alternative approach that is used only in appropriate and limited circumstances.

You can make a submission by Friday, 13 March 2026. To make a written submission online, click here or go to the "Submissions" tab below.
