Memorandum of Understanding - Execution of Search Warrants by the Independent Commission Against Corruption on Members' Offices

On 25 November 2009 the Legislative Council forwarded a message to the Legislative Assembly regarding a proposed Memorandum of Understanding between the Presiding Officers and the Commissioner of the ICAC. On the 17 June 2009 the committee had resolved that the House be requested to adopt a specific protocol for execution of search warrants by investigative agencies. The Committee also resolved that the Chair write to the Attorney General and the Premier, requesting that consideration be given to the introduction of Parliamentary privilege legislation, to confirm the protection of Article 9 of the Bill of Rights 1688.
