Follow up of the Auditor General’s 2012 Financial Audit Report

Under section 57 of the Public Finance and Audit Act 1983, the functions of the Committee include the examination of any report of the Auditor-General laid before the Legislative Assembly and any circumstances connected with those reports.   On 9 May 2013, the Committee resolved to seek information about agencies' responses to certain repeat recommendations made in the Auditor-General's Financial Audit Reports to Parliament during 2012. These recommendations have been identified as being of high priority for further investigation based on an assessment of their importance to the relevant agency and to the public sector as a whole.   These submissions will then be examined, further comment will be sought from the Auditor-General, and the Committee may subsequently hold a public hearing with relevant agency officers to clarify issues or obtain further information. The Committee then will publish the submissions and report on its findings.
