Help for New Users

Welcome to our website. This version was released in September 2004. The release of this new version is the final stage of a project which has involved all departments and sections across the Parliament. The process has included external evaluation by usability testers.

Among the major improvements are:

The homepage is updated hourly so that it always contains:

a link list of chamber and committee activities for the current day,
a link list of all committee activities for the current month, and
a calendar of sitting days, with embedded links to Hansard and Papers for the current month's sittings.

Improved search - links now appear on either side of the hits within search results. You can uses these links to navigate directly between hits on a page, and from one results page to the next without returning to the results list. See the search help page.
Web standards support (accessibility) - you can navigate this site via keyboard shortcuts, customise font sizes, and more. See the accessibility page.
