Explanatory note This explanatory note relates to this Bill as introduced into Parliament. Overview of Bill The object of this Bill is to provide for a trial, in a prescribed area, of the involuntary treatment of persons with a severe substance dependence with the aim of protecting their health and safety, facilitating their stabilisation through medical treatment and giving them the opportunity to engage in voluntary treatment.
