Qualifications, occupations and interests
Real estate agent. Arrived in Australia in 1884. Worked as a grocer, agent and auctioneer initially at Leichhardt and after 1896 at Gladesville, moving to Ryde in 1905. Agent for Coffil and Company. until 1912; estate agent and auctioneer from 1905. Established brickworks in 1910.

Alderman of of the Municipal Council of Ryde from 1896 until 1919. Mayor 1904, 1908, 1913

Son of Archibald Anderson, master painter, and his wife Elizabeth Buchanan More. Married (1) Emily Amelia Ely Linderman circa 1891 and they had 1 son and 1 daughter. Married (2) Florence May McWhirter and they had 4 sons and 2 daughters. Presbyterian. Buried in Field-of-Mars cemetery, Ryde, New South Wales.
