Qualifications, occupations and interests
Engineer. Arrived in Orange as a child. Educated at Orange East public school; served an engineering apprenticeship with 'Cocky' Robinson, joined Railways Department in Wellington as a fitter in 1915, dismissed in strike, re-employed from 1917 until 1920 at Wellington, Tenterfield from 1920 until 1924, steam shed inspector at Nyngan from 1924 until 1926, Murrurundi until 1927; resigned to open an engineering business in Orange; later was a boiler inspector for Western Districts. Son of James Folster, terracotta burner, and Elizabeth Whitworth. Married Vashti Lurline Hart on 29 July 1916 and had issue, 2 daughters. Congregationalist. Burial at Orange cemetery from Congregationalist church.
