Australian Labor Party (ALP). Joined the party in 1913, president of Chatswood branch, delegate to electorate councils and conference.
Qualifications, occupations and interests
Public servant and farmer. Educated at St Patrick's College in Goulburn. Joined public service and became a junior attendant at the Public Library from 1903 - 1908. Draughtsman at Registrar General's Department 1908 - 1925, 1932 - 1935, owned a 1200 acre grazing property in the Goulburn district; later had an interest in the timber trade; became Agent General for New South Wales in London from 1946 until 1954; member of Public Service Professional Officers' Association; noted athlete in youth, also Rugby Union then League football; keen racegoer
Personal
Son of Peter Tully, railway officer, and Sarah Lovat, teacher. Married Dorothy Kitching on 4 October 1916 and had issue, 2 sons. Roman Catholic. Funeral at Northern Suburbs Lawn cemetery from Our Lady of Dolours Roman Catholic church, Chatswood.
