Son of Edmund Peter Hurley, farmer, and Catherine Maria Lawless. Married (1) Margaret Power on 16 August 1922 and they had 3 sons. After Margaret died, married (2) Rosina Sloane on 8 October 1934, and they had 1 daughter and 1 son. Roman Catholic.
