Qualifications, occupations and interests
Clerk. Educated O'Connell public school; on land until until 1899; miner at Burraga and later at Portland; secretary of Portland Miners' union; moved to Sydney; clerk with J.B Moffat, solicitor, later became managing clerk with W.D Mahon; at death was a munitions inspector.
Enlisted with 1st Australian Contingent in Boer War, Sergeant
Son of John Wood, financier, and Caroline Jane Mutton. Married Eva Emily Millard in 1911 and had issue, 2 sons. Funeral at Northern Suburbs crematorium from Balgowlah Methodist church.
