Australian Labor Party (ALP). joined the party on 5 October 1952. Assistant Secretary of the Australian Labor Party Youth Council and represented the State Electoral Council, Federal Electoral Council and the Municipal Assembly.

Chairman of State Sports Centre 1984 - 1994, Bicentennial Park Trust 1987, Sports House Advisory Committee, Police & Citizens Boys Committee. Secretary and Chairman of Association of Former Members of Parliament 1987 - 2005.

Public servant. Educated at St Thomas School, Lewisham and Marist Brothers, Kogarah. Clerk in Public Trust Office from 1948 until 1958; private secretary to J.F McGrath. Branch commitee for the Clerical Officers Association within the Public Service; footballer (played two years, 1950 - 1951 - President's Cup for St George).

Medal of the Order of Australia (AOM). Centenary Medal.
