Alderman at Wollongong from 1938 until 1944, active in amalgamation of Greater Wollongong.

Son of Peter Francis Connor, labourer, and Ethel Deegan. Married Grace Amelia Searl on 14 August 1931 and had issue, 3 daughters. Buried in Lakeside Memorial Park at Dapto from St Francis Xavier's Roman Catholic Cathedral at Wollongong. Cousin of Kevin Dwyer (q.v)
