SHENHUA WATERMARK COALMINE

The Hon. JEREMY BUCKINGHAM: My question is directed to the Minister for Roads and Ports, representing the Minister for Resources and Energy. With all due respect, can the Minister explain the inconsistency in his answer yesterday that Shenhua's Watermark project is the subject of a part 3A application and the answer from the Hon. Greg Pearce today that it is not?
The Hon. DUNCAN GAY: In the weeks before the election the media in Tamworth indicated via The Greens that Shenhua's project had been accepted as a part 3A application and that an appropriate announcement was made. I am a person who accepts people on their word: The Greens said it and I accepted it. Now that it appears it has not been accepted, what has changed? We had an agreement.
The Hon. Lynda Voltz: That is not what you said to the House.
The Hon. DUNCAN GAY: If the member remained quiet for a moment, she might learn something. However, I suspect she will never learn anything.

Interruption]
We hear from the wall of sound. The brain is not engaged but the mouth works overtime. Let the wall of sound commence. I am trying to answer the question.
The PRESIDENT: Order! The Hon. Eric Roozendaal will come to order.
The Hon. DUNCAN GAY: Nothing has changed between yesterday and today. Shenhua will be going through this Government's strategic plans process and, as I said yesterday, it has accepted that it will go through that process. Regardless of whether it has accepted that or not, if it does not go through the part 3A process it must go through the strategic plans process.
