HUME DAM WALL MOVEMENT
The Hon. ELISABETH KIRKBY: My question without notice is directed to the Attorney General, and Minister for Industrial Relations, representing the Minister for Land and Water Conservation. Has the wall of the Hume Weir moved downstream recently to a significant degree? Is remedial work in progress? Does the Government have an emergency evacuation plan in place in the event of the dam breaching? Will the Minister consider allocating an increased flow to the Snowy River this year in order to reduce the amount of water flowing into the Hume Weir? If so, what financial impact is such a decision likely to have on irrigators along the Murray River?
