The Hon. D. F. MOPPETT: My question without notice is directed to the Attorney General, and Minister for Industrial Relations, representing the Minister for Land and Water Conservation. Is the Minister aware that in March 1995 the then Public Works Department was investigating an

enlargement of the Bogan water storage? Is he aware that the Bogan water storage is a vital resource of water supply to not only the town of Nyngan but also Cobar, and in the case of emergency would back up water supplies for Brewarrina and Bourke? Is the Minister aware also that the proposal involved the development of an aquatic sports centre for canoeing, kayaking and rowing events? Could the Minister inform the House as to the progress of those investigations and, as there was no provision in this budget, when that project will be undertaken?
