At a time of rising unemployment in the Hunter Valley, the North Coast, the Central Coast and western Sydney will the Minister explain why the Government plans to abolish the area assistance scheme, which helps the most needy and disadvantaged?

Dr REFSHAUGE: The Government does not plan to abolish the area assistance scheme.
