Skills Shortages in Rural and Regional NSW (Inquiry)

This inquiry is a completed Legislative Council inquiry conducted by the State Development Committee.   This inquiry was established on 7 June 2005 to report on skills shortages in rural and regional NSW. The original reporting date of the inquiry was 9 December 2005, however this was extended to 1 June 2006. Although the reporting date had been extended to 1 June 2006 the Committee tabled the report in the Legislative Council on Thursday 11 May 2006.

The Committee has conducted public hearings and public forums throughout rural/regional NSW and in Sydney. The locations/regions were:

30 Sept 2005: Coffs Harbour
31 Oct - 1 Nov 2005: Wagga Wagga and Griffith
2 Nov 2005: Parliament House, Sydney
23 - 24 Nov 2005: Parkes and Bathurst
5 Dec 2005: Parliament House, Sydney
13 Feb 2006: Queanbeyan
16 Feb 2006: Moree
17 Feb 2006: Parliament House, Sydney.
