Legislative Council Standing Committee on Law and Justice
The Standing Committee on Law and Justice is a current standing committee of the Legislative Council, established 24 May 1995, re-established 9 May 2011.
The Committee was first established on 24 May 1995 during the 51st Parliament and has been re-appointed in subsequent Parliaments, most recently on 9 May 2011 for the current 55th Parliament.
The functions of the Committee are to inquire into and report on:
(a) legal and constitutional issues in New South Wales, including law reform, parliamentary matters, criminal law, administrative law and the justice system, and
(b) matters concerned with industrial relations and fair trading.
